Light Elf Outpost - God of War (2018) Guide - IGN (2024)

The Light Elf Outpost is accessible in God of War only after the water has receded a second time. It is a late-game side area, and should be attempted only when you have reached at least level 4.

You can find it in the north west of the Lake of Nine, nearby the Forgotten Caverns.

Just a few steps off shore, you'll run into a Level 5 Ogre and a few Draugr. Focus on taking out the Ogre with your fists to stun it, then ride it to victory against the other enemies.

Note: If you see a blue stone, just preemptively make Atreus hit it with a light arrow.

Hidden Chamber

On the right, unlock the mirror (available after completing The Magic Chisel and head inside to open a Coffin with some basic loot: 1 Svartfelheim Steel 3 World Serpent Scales

Nornir Chest

The Nornir Chest is easily visible up on a slope ahead. Destroy the wooden barricade below it to reveal the blue crystal, and have Atreus shoot it to create a bridge.

You'll see the "R" immediately to the left of it.

Continue along the path to the right and look at the decrepit remains of a bridge where the seagulls are to find the first rune 'n'.

When you continue along the path to, across a few light bridges, nearly to the top, you'll see the last rune, the 'C', in plain view just beyond a chain that will bring you down to open a gate that brings you back near the entrance of this island.

You'll get an Idunn Apple for your troubles.

Realm Tear Activation

Just beyond the 'n' rune, you'll see particles in the air. Interact with it to collect some Dust of the Realms.

Continue past here down the chain, ignoring the planks and the cimable wall to your left for now, and continue ahead to find aChest.To the left, break the planks and have Atreus shoot the stone with light arrows to create a path.

Head back and climb up the marked wall, and open the gate. Head back down to break the planks to find a chest with hacksilver inside. Open the gate, and grab the blue crystal. Make your way back up toward the Nornir chest and around to go through the gate you just opened above to pass the bridge you just made.

At the fork, after defeating the Draugr that appear, make a right to find a place to set the blue stone.

Use the opening just past here to have Atreus hit the remaining two blue stones above, if you haven't already, to create more bridges, and make your way to the top.

Legendary Chest

At the top of the Light Elf Outpost, you'll be rewarded with a new Runic Summon: Bitter Squirrel, which summons a spetral squirrel, Ratatoskr, to unearth consumables.

The chest will also produce a Pristine Scales of the Realm, a Legendary material used to upgrade powerful armor, only found here.

Realm Tear Encounter

You'll need to make a round trip to the left to retrieve a blue crystal and deposit it on the pedestal at the top.

Shoot that and the two blue glowing blue crystal torches above (one is behind you) to activate the Realm Tear Encounter.

When you interact with it, three icy denizens of Hel - up to Level 8 - will emerge. Be ready with your other weapon to take them down.
