1 hour agoDaniel Hemric did it again on Sunday. The Kaulig Racing Chevrolet started 14th and was in first place for five laps. He was the fifth of five Chevy's to wind up in the Top 10 on Sunday from "The Monster Mile." Hemric was 22nd after both stages but made a charge over the final long run. In the last 10-15 laps, the Chevy driver was turning in laps in the 24.3-24.6 second range. That beat out the likes of Martin Truex Jr and Alex Bowman. Only Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin were faster by the end of the race. Hemric's ninth gives him hope for Kansas on Sunday. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: NASCAR.com

2 hours agoTy Gibbs did not win the Wurth 400 but did managed to finish tenth on Sunday evening. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver began 19th and improved to tenth. Gibbs was running pretty well as the race moved along. He was 17th after Stage 1 then 11th after Stage 2. It was an interesting week for the No. 54 Toyota. Gibbs never had the race speed out of the turns to contend but was fast enough late (Top 10 in the final two segments). It will be intriguing to see what happens at Kansas. 6 hours agoBoston Red Sox starting pitch Tanner Houck threw another gem on Sunday in a 5-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs. Houck tossed 6 ⅔ innings of one-run ball, allowing just four hits while striking out nine and walking none. It is the fourth start this season where Houck hasn't walked a batter, and his strikeouts haven't suffered either. His season line looks mightily impressive, with a 1.60 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and 41 strikeouts in 39 ⅓ IP. 6 hours agoPhiladelphia Phillies relief pitcher Jose Alvarado shut down the San Diego Padres on Sunday, helping the team to an 8-6 win. Alvarado was sharp in this one, striking out a pair while not allowing a baserunner in his inning of work. The lefty remains the only Philly with more than one save and appears to be the go-to guy in the ninth inning. 6 hours agoPhiladelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott put the team on his back in an 8-6 win over the San Diego Padres on Sunday. Stott finished the day going 2-for-3 with two homers and a stolen base. He also scored three runs and drove in four. It was a blistering day at the dish for the 26-year-old, who sorely needed it after a tough start to the season. The homers were just his second and third of the season and the stolen base was his fourth. Stott has 20/20 upside that was on full display Sunday, so he should be held onto in most leagues.--Matt Garon - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

6 hours agoColorado Rockies outfielder Nolan Jones (back) was removed from Sunday's game early with back stiffness. Jones missed two games earlier this week with the same injury and was only able to play in one game before the injury popped up again. It is worrying that the back issues appear to be lingering, with manager Bud Black saying that the team will determine whether an IL stint is necessary before the team's next game on Tuesday. Perhaps this offers a reason for Jones' brutal start to the season, but fantasy managers won't be any happier with that explanation.--Matt Garon - RotoBallerSource: Thomas Harding

6 hours agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Masataka Yoshida (hand) was removed from Sunday's game in the sixth inning after jamming his hand in his first at-bat of the game. Manager Alex Cora said after the game that the team wasn't sure what the extent of the injury was and X-rays hadn't been taken yet. Yoshida is off to a pretty good start to the year with a .274/.357/.403 slash line, although his two homers and zero steals don't make him much of a roto league option in fantasy. 7 hours agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Dane Dunning had his best start of the season on Sunday, picking up the win in a 4-3 victory over the Cincinnati Reds. Dunning was on a mission in this one, racking up 10 strikeouts over 5 ⅓ innings of two-run ball (one earned). The righty allowed just three hits, and maybe most importantly didn't walk a single batter. Considering he had walked at least two in every other start this season, this was clearly a big part of his success. Dunning remains a deeper-league option with some streamer appeal in standard-sized leagues, but he has shown an improved ability to get strikeouts this year, which is something to watch for in his coming starts.--Matt Garon - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

9 hours agoMilwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton (ankle) finished with 25 points in Sunday's loss to Indiana. He added 10 boards, five assists, and one steal. Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) and Damian Lillard (Achilles) were ruled out heading into the contest. However, Bobby Portis got ejected after a physical confrontation with Andrew Nembhard, although Middleton couldn't lead his team to a win. Unfortunately, the veteran has had issues with both ankles during this series, so he'll likely appear on the injury report for Game 5 on Tuesday. But with Milwaukee hoping to avoid elimination, Middleton should be out there, although he likely won't be fully healthy.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

9 hours agoIndiana Pacers forward Pascal Siakam flirted with a triple-double in Sunday's win over Milwaukee, finishing with 13 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists. He also got after it defensively, adding two steals and one block. Although the former Raptor was more productive in the series' first two games, he's a big reason Indiana is one game away from advancing to the next round. 9 hours agoIndiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton finished with 24 points in Sunday's win over the Bucks. He added four rebounds, four assists, and one steal. The former King popped up on the injury report shortly before the start of the contest because of back spasms. However, he was at least healthy enough to lead his team to another victory. Haliburton could appear on the injury report again heading into Game 5 on Tuesday. But with Indy looking to finish off the series, he should be out there.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

9 hours agoIndiana Pacers center Myles Turner had a game-high 29 points in Sunday's playoff victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. He was locked in from deep, going 7-for-9, adding nine rebounds and three blocks. The Bucks were without Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf), and with Bobby Portis getting ejected, Turner took advantage to finish with one of the best games of his career. 10 hours agoThe Washington Commanders have signed undrafted running back MIchael Wiley. The Arizona product has put together a fairly strong college career. He has nearly 3,000 yards from scrimmage and 28 touchdowns during his time at Arizona. He's not exactly a workhorse back with only one season with 100-plus rushing attempts. Despite that, Wiley can still make an impact at the pro level. 10 hours agoThe Tennessee Titans have reportedly signed undrafted running back Jabari Small. The young back is a bit undersized but has made some noise with his legs. Small rushed for over 700 yards in 2021 but hasn't really been the same since then. He was a solid option as the No. 2 back to Jaylen Wright this past season. 10 hours agoFree-agent offensive tackle Mekhi Becton has signed a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. The former first-round pick has agreed to a one-year deal worth $5.5 million for next season. The New York Jets decided to move on from Becton after he started 16 games for them in 2023. Becton has not lived up to the hype of being taken early in the draft. To be fair, Becton has faced multiple injuries and is still young enough to turn his career around. 10 hours agoThe Denver Broncos are signing undrafted wide receiver Lincoln Victor on Sunday. Victor began his career at Hawaii but transferred to Washington State in 2021. He was quiet for awhile but finally broke out during the 2023 season. Victor posted 87 receptions with 850 receiving yards and five touchdowns this past season. He has some experience on special teams as well, which should help him in camp. 10 hours agoThe Washington Commanders have signed quarterback Sam Hartman on Sunday. The Notre Dame signal-caller went undrafted during this weekend's NFL draft. There were rumors of Hartman going to the Chicago Bears, but instead Hartman will head to Washington. The six-year prospect finished his college career with Notre Dame after playing mostly at Wake Forest. Hartman threw for 2,689 passing yards with 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions during his last year in college. He should get a legitimate chance to compete for the backup gig with veteran Marcus Mariota in camp. 11 hours agoHouston Astros outfield prospect Joey Loperfido is being promoted from Triple-A Sugar Land, per Ari Alexander. Loperfido currently has the most home runs in professional baseball with 13 and has posted a .287/.393/.713 stat line with five swiped bags across 25 games this season. The Astros have had a rough start to the season, and they are hoping that their sixth-ranked prospect will provide a much-needed spark. The 24-year-old should be expected to see time in left field or at first base over the struggling Chas McCormick and Jose Abreu. While his strikeout rate is high, Loperfido is a must-add in all formats and is worth spending at least 10% of your FAAB budget on simply due to his power potential alone.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerSource: Ari Alexander

11 hours agoHouston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell (leg) suffered a gunshot wound on Sunday morning after a 16-year-old suspect opened fire during a physical altercation at a private event in Sanford, Florida. Dell, who was at the event but not involved, suffered a "minor wound," with the team reporting the wideout is in "good spirits" and has been released from the hospital. Others were injured during the incident. Fortunately, no one suffered life-threatening injuries. As far as the gunman, he was arrested and charged with several crimes, including attempted homicide, before being transported to a juvenile detention facility. The 24-year-old is currently working his way back from a broken leg suffered at the end of last season and should remain on schedule to return for the 2024-25 campaign, barring any setbacks related to the incident.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: DJ Bien-Aime

11 hours agoDenver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray (calf) is questionable for Monday's contest against the Lakers. He has a left calf strain, which could explain his struggles in Saturday's loss to the Lakers. While the 27-year-old still finished that one with 22 points, he had trouble shooting the ball, going 9-for-23 from the field and 0-for-4 from deep. It's hard to imagine Murray will miss Game 5. 11 hours agoDallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic had a triple-double in Sunday's loss to the Clippers. He struggled shooting the ball, going 10-for-24 from the field and 1-for-9 from deep. However, he still finished with 29 points, adding 10 rebounds, 10 assists, and one block. The Clippers didn't have Kawhi Leonard (knee) for this one, with his absence potentially extending through the rest of the series. Unfortunately, Dallas couldn't take advantage, so the series will head back to Los Angeles knotted at two games a piece. 11 hours agoArizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Kevin Ginkel has been a viable option for the team early in the season. The right-hander was asked to take over the closer role after Paul Sewald (oblique) went down. On Sunday, Ginkel made it look easy as he threw a scoreless ninth inning to hold the one-run lead over the Seattle Mariners. He holds a 3.00 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and a 13/3 K/BB ratio, while converting five of his seven save chances. 12 hours agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt looked terrific on the mound during Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners. The right-hander threw six innings, allowing five hits, and striking out 11 batters during a no-decision. The D-Backs would end up winning the game, but they didn't get the lead until Pfaadt was already done for the day. The hope is that this performance will help Pfaadt improve his 4.63 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. His next outing will be against the San Diego Padres next weekend.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) and Damian Lillard (Achilles) weren't available for this contest, so Portis was expected to play a pivotal role offensively. However, after receiving two technicals for a physical confrontation with Andrew Nembhard, his night is over. The right-hander recently landed on the 15-day injured list, but sounds like Bello should be back sooner rather than later. It's uncertain if the team plans on having Bello go on a rehab assignment. However, it wasn't enough, as Los Angeles took the win to tie the series at two games each. In all fairness, Irving can't take any of the blame, considering he had his best showing of the postseason. DFS managers should expect his rostering cost to increase for Game 5 after his strong effort in Game 4. The multi-time All-Star played well in the series' first three games, so he kept it going to help lead his club to a much-needed win. With Kawhi Leonard (knee) uncertain for the remainder of the series, Harden will see as many minutes as possible for Game 5. On Sunday, Rizzo went 4-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in the blowout win over the Milwaukee Brewers. This marked Rizzo's fourth homer in six days and his 300th career long ball of his career. It came in his 1,664th game since debuting with the San Diego Padres in 2011. The six hits in the last two days has boosted his slash line to .277/.341/.446 on the season. 12 hours agoNew York Mets third baseman Mark Vientos came up clutch for the team during Sunday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. He entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning and singled during that plate appearance. Vientos remained in the game and got another at-bat versus left-hander Matthew Liberatore in the 11th inning. He blasted a two-run home run off Liberatore to help the Mets get the 4-2 win.
