Bella Thorne (Creator) - TV Tropes (1)

Annabella Avery "Bella" Thorne (born October 8, 1997) is an American actress, model, singer and writer. With appearances in more than 20 films and television series and more than 40 commercials, Thorne is best known for her breakout role as the aspiring young dancer CeCe Jones on the Disney Channel original series Shake it Up. She remains good friends with her co-star on the show, Zendaya.

Thorne has three siblings who are also actors. Her father was Cuban-American, while she also has English, German, Irish, Italian and Welsh ancestry, Spanish being her first language. He died in a traffic accident in 2007, and she has stated that she was largely raised by her mother, and that she originally began working as an actress to help support the family financially as they were very poor.

She also had dyslexia as a child and was bullied at school as a result; her experiences later influenced her Shake It Up character also having the condition. In 2018, she revealed that she had been physically and sexually abused as a child, reportedly from the age of 6 to 14.

She is openly pansexual, and has dated a number of high-profile actors and musicians, including Gregg Sulkin, Lil Peep, blackbear, MOD SUN, Tana Mongeau, and singer Benjamin Mascolo. She has been engaged to entrepreneur Mark Emms since May 2023.

Tropes associated with her works:

  • Actor-Shared Background: Her character CeCe from Shake it Up, is dyslexic just like her.
  • Deleted Role: Her role along with Jessica Chastain's got cut in The Death And Life Of John F Donovan for timing and pacing reasons.
  • Leet Lingo: "TTYLXOX" is chock full of this.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Many of her adult roles and social media posts show her wearing skin-revealing, highly sexualized outfits. That's on top of creating an OnlyFans account. She's also done music videos and photo shoots (including some with other women, perhaps playing up her pansexuality) that were highly suggestive, many only just stopping short of explicit nudity.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She's 5′ 8″ and well known for her beauty.
  • Time-Shifted Actor:
    • For the US dub of Metegol (Underdogs) she's this to Ariana Grande and Katie Holmes.
    • In Masquerade, her character Rose is actually a grown up Casey Rose (Alyvia Alyn Lind).
