ACTIVITIES FOR TEENS (2025)

Fun Activities for Teens

After putting together my indoor activities for kids, it became clear quickly that I needed to share more ideas specific for teenagers! They need a way to have fun without having their face up to a tv, computer or their devices. I gathered over 50 ideas that involve little screen time or ideas that they can use online to create all kinds of fun.

CREATIVE

The sky is the limit for arts and crafts for teenagers. There are a TON of good ideas out there but here are some to get them going:

• Make a cable knit blanket with looping yarn from It’s Always Autumn
• Create a time capsule
• Make some friendship bracelets with tutorial from A Girl and a Glue Gun
• Visit museums virtually
• Make a gigantic comic strip
• Hydro dip your shoes!
• Learn how to hand letter
• Create some word rocks
• Doodle with Mo Willems

SCIENCE + MATH
For the teen who is interested in science, math, engineering, building:

• Work on stem projects
• Use algebra to make snowflakes
• Learn how to code
• Build furniture with Ana White
• Make your own bath bombs (this could fall under creative too but involves science)
• Go geocaching
• Gumdrop Bridge Building
• Build the Eiffel Tower

MUSIC
Interested in music? Learn how to play instruments and/or

• Learn how to play the guitar (another resource for guitar lessons), Guitar Lessons on Youtube
• Easy piano lessons
• Learn how to play the ukulele
• 10 sites with free sheet music

GAMES
Playing games is so much fun indoors! Here are some ideas:

• A list of our favorite games!
• Learn how to play Knock and Ripple
• Make a scavenger hunt indoors – this would be good to do for younger siblings especially. This selfie scavenger hunt is fun too!
• Put together some puzzles
• Fun things to do with plastic cups from a Girl and a Glue Gun

COOKING
Get in the kitchen and get cooking with these ideas:

• Learn how to cook and put together a family cookbook with favorite recipes
• How to be a rockstar in the kitchen
• Play a game of “Chopped“
• Simple breakfasts

HISTORY/POLITICS
Interested in history and/or politics? Use some of these ideas:

• Hands on History Projects
• Eyewitness to History
• Presidential Election Writing Prompts

READ + WRITE
For the one who loves to read and write, here are some good ideas:
